About Dermorphin
Dermorphin, Tyr-D-Ala-Phe-Gly-Tyr-Pro-Ser-NH₂, was isolated in the early 1980s from the skin of Phyllomedusa tree frogs. It was one of the first natural animal peptides found to contain a D-amino acid, which arises from post-translational conversion of an L-alanine encoded in its precursor.
It is a highly selective and potent agonist of the μ-opioid receptor.
